Now that may seem like a contradiction because we think of relaxation as taking a lot of time.

But sometimes we only have a few minutes and we have to do what we can in the time we’ve got, right?

Alright, so the first thing is you want to sit down with your feet flat on the floor. The second thing is you want to turn off all electronics.

No telephone, no cellphone, no TV, no music.

Nothing.

Silence is very important for relaxation. Really important. Remove all stressful stimuli from your mind and from around you.

You want to take a deep breath and you want to count to at least 7 going in and then at least 7 going out.

You can actually count. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven on the inhale, the same as you exhale. But on the exhale you do it forcefully like this.

If you do that deep breathing exercise, it’s a quick relaxation tool that will help purge your mind and your mind of stress.

Now maybe momentarily that you’re just doing this for maybe a minute of two but it is something that will actually help re-focus your mind if you’re in the midst of something stressful at work or if you’re in the midst of something stressful at home or if you’re in the midst of some kind of conflict.

If somebody is bugging you whether it’s your spouse, it’s your kids, anybody in your life, a co-worker, you need to step out.

And if you don’t have a private place, go in the ladies room.

Okay?

Close the stall door, sit on the pot whether you have to go or not and do your deep breathing exercise. That will help you.

It will stop you from reacting to stress in a negative way and will help you clear your mind of the urge to get wound up in whatever stress it is that’s coming at you.

So deep breath in count of seven, exhale a little more forcefully count of seven on the way out and that is your worth repeating deep breathing exercise that you can do over and over again.

You will be surprised at how calm you feel after doing that. The breath is important.

The breath is energy.

The breath connects you to positive and negative things depending on how you use it.
