On the quick tip of today, we’re going to talk about some delicious Portein based Power Smoothies that you can prepare in an instant to boost your day!

First of all, you need a good quality protein powder. And that does not have to be whey based if you do not do dairy.

But if you can do dairy, this is lactose free. Most protein powders will tell you how many grams of protein per scoop. I get one that’s at least 20 grams of protein per scoop.

I take my blender and I put ice in the bottom so it will be cold and I dump in the protein scoop.

I add a piece of fruit like a banana.

Bananas are high in potassium, as you know, but it can be any kind of fruit.

Today I used pineapple and banana and I made one for my husband. I take a scoop, maybe about half a cup or a little less, of non-fat Greek yogurt which has more protein in it.

It has probiotics in it – those good bacteria that keep your intestine healthy.

Then I add a handful of greens. And today, it was kale and spinach that I get prewashed organic and I throw that in there.

And then I add a cup – and if it’s for two people, 2 cups – of almond milk, unsweetened. I blend that together and it comes out kind of slightly green but it taste good.

And I pour that in a glass and drink it down slowly. And that is my protein shake for the day.

That energizing protein shake has vitamins, minerals, protein.

It’s got good nutrition all around in addition to probiotics.

It’s wonderful.

I recommend it.
